Travelling: A Must to Everyone

The nature is full of surprises. Different feelings, emotions, experiences and learnings are the complete package brought about by travelling.

Going there is an exciting experience, being there makes me happy and relaxed, and leaving the place marks another milestone in my life. It is how I described what travelling is.

I was eight years old, when I was able to reach the City of Pines. It’s a long and dizzy travel. Because of the sharp curved and the long zigzag road it makes my small and large intestine crumble in my stomach. Though I have this feeling, I see myself like Wonder Woman who is still firm on top of the mountain. It is a long, long travel but there’s a benefit in it. I saw the culture and tradition of the Ifugao’s, their livelihood, and their native products which includes wood carvings, handicrafts and their food specialty. Observing the people, their environment it reminds us the life of our ancestors. What is life before is typically the life of our brothers in Ifugao province now.  What a great learning indeed. The cool breeze mixed with pine scent helped me feel relaxed and comfortable. Now, I have visited several times this place but excitement is always within me. I often asked myself what is in you, Baguio, that you are always like a beauty queen whose beauty never fade.

From the land, let’s go now to the bodies of water. Going in an island is a fearful experience but reaching the island is dramatic experience. It is my first time to ride in a motor boat just to reach one of the island in Sta. Cruz, Zambales. At first, I was afraid to step on the motor boat as I see the waves of the sea. The waves are like big creatures that once it strike the motor boat, the motor boat swing.

As we travel, our boat was hit by big waves. But with the courage in me and the presence of my parents I was able to enjoy the travel in the middle of the sea. While riding in a boat, I saw different sea creatures like star fish, jellyfish and different species of fish. As we travel, silence is presence, maybe everybody is praying for our safe trip. I am one of them who is  praying for the safe journey. Though I felt nervous , I did not show it to my parents, I don’t want to make them worry about me but instead appreciating  the beauty of the sea is what comes out of my mouth.

At last after an hour, we reached the island. Upon reaching the sea shore, we hurriedly step out of the motor boat. We run to the shore, swim and pick up some star fish. I saw different sizes of jelly fish. Jelly fish are very attractive. Since jelly fish is dangerous to our body, I keep myself away from it. I am also attracted to the different corals, rocks found under the sea.  I and my brother built castle made from sand. It was exciting, we use our creativity. It enhances our imagination.

Again, being in different place, in different scenario far from our everyday life, the experiences that I encounter here while in an island thought me to be practical and always be thankful for what I have.

I have to admit that going in different places makes me an adoptable individual. Travelling to different places, thought me how to be independent, appreciate the beauty of nature, learned from the experiences that I encountered that makes me a strong person.  So, for me, travelling is must, let’s go, let’s explore and more learnings awaits us.
